SmartLord is a product of corn.blue, a UK software studio. This notice explains, in plain English, what personal data we handle and why.
What we collect
- Your account — the name and email you sign up with, and your subscription status.
- The data you enter — your properties, companies, tenancies, tenants, transactions and documents. Some of this is your tenants' personal data.
- Basic technical logs — needed to run the service securely and diagnose faults.
Who is responsible for what
For your account, SmartLord is the data controller. For the tenant and portfolio data you enter, you are the controller and SmartLord processes it on your behalf, under your instructions — you are responsible for having a lawful basis to hold it.
How we use it
Only to provide the service: to run your workspace, to send the reminders and digests you switch on, and to take payment. We do not sell your data, and we do not use your portfolio or tenant data to advertise to you or anyone else.
Where it's stored and who touches it
Your data is held in a UK region and processed by the short list of providers named on our Security page (Supabase, Stripe, Vercel and Resend), each acting only on our instructions.
Your rights
You can access, correct, export or delete your data. Much of this is self-service — you can export records to CSV in the app at any time. For anything else, email isaac@corn.blue and we'll action UK GDPR requests promptly. We keep your data for as long as your workspace is active; when you close it, we delete it on request.
Changes
We'll update this notice as the product develops and post the date of the latest version at the top. Questions? Email isaac@corn.blue.
